The last (and only) paid massage i ever had was a full body chinese massage. It was fucking painful. But largely because i had so many taunt muscles from sports... so I can't conclusively tell you how much they're *mean* to hurt. These days I just get my boyfriend to do it, haha. Those hurt too, but like, in a way where I can feel its doing me good, and loosening me up.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of being touched or massaged. If I ever ask for a massage, I'm probably in a lot of pain, haha. I usually make my mom do it, though. I'm not really up for other people touching me.

Maybe you should see a doctor? I hope your back feels better, though.

The only massages that I've had are those casual ones that friends give you by rubbing your shoulders, and those feel odd. I think that massages are supposed to hurt in different ways. Usually you hurt from too much tension. And a massage hurts because it's undoing all that? I'm not sure.

Happy birthday, Kalliste! Get well soon, and then go have a belated drink.

Being sick on your birthday sucks. I'd certainly complain if I were sick on my birthday.

I was doing so good too! Luckily, i've only gained two pounds back (water weight, right? lol) But yeah, i'm glad i'm not the only one.

My main observation is: don't beat yourself up over food - the more focussed on eating you get the less easy it is to keep at it... Suddenly changing what you eat is hard... Cutting back on things gradually is gentler, more habit forming and less stressful. Though it can mean slower results, I've seen it work better for friends than straight 'dieting'. In fact I think the people I know most sucessful at keeping weight off have just cut the snacks, replaced the fast-food and increased the walking and other exercise. But everyone is different.

Hope you get where you want to go. :)

Do you have an iPhone/iPod Touch/iAnything? The LoseIt app has been a lifesaver to me when it comes to keeping track of what I eat and how many calories I've consumed, plus it allows you to add exercise workouts and such. Definitely helpful! Good luck on your journey! (And I completely admire your restraint on the chocolate. I'm going on a week without it and I'm ready to cave, ahh!)

I've gone through this myself. The only thing I really don't like is the list of foods I can eat constantly decreasing.

Easiest thing you can do is to replace all carbs with whole wheat/whole grain carbs. You'll probably have to learn how to cook new kinds of food because as it stands, current cuisines aren't that healthy.

There's something about the public transit system that draws in the weirdos. It happens to me all the time, as well. I couldn't imagine how much creepier it would be during the night!

Not to be creepy (tee hee hee) but I share your problem. The drunk guy. The druggies. The dude from some part of the non-english-speaking-world who's only been here a few months and is desperate to make a connection. And random, slightly nutso, lonely people. This is my public transport life! And that's during the daytime... I long ago decided I must come under the heading of Mostly Harmless. Sounds like you share that affliction.
