I feel so suppressed

So every so often (well, a lot actually) I moan and groan about my weight and how unfair it is that food is so delicious but so evil. Recently, I’ve noticed I eat even when not hungry. Today, I have started to attempt to eat less… I didn’t even eat one bit of chocolate today although I have a buttload at home. I just got here andย  *drool* I want it all, but I’m being good… for now ๐Ÿ™‚

Anyhoo, I’ve always wondered what diet suppressents were like but have heard about all the horror stories about side effects and kept away. If truth be told, I don’t really have issues losing weight just issues motivating myself to do so.

I have looked up one of these drugs today though called Phentermine and well, while it sounds good I wonder about it’s “speed like” qualities. The side effects that are toned down are

“simply the effects of having too much adrenaline and noradrenaline. Such side possible side effects are tachycardia (increased heart rate) and elevated blood pressure, but the incidence and magnitude of these appear to be less than with the amphetamines.”

ย
This doesn’t fill me with confidence… it has the similar side effects to Speed so how addictive is it? And why does this review call it the Phentermine Diet? Scary much?

As always with diet supplements part of the review says how effect it is when combined with a good diet and exercise! Just like everything else right? I’m sure chocolate is good taken once a day in combination with exercise and good diet.

This review states that it is unbiased but seems to tone down the side effects and instead focuses on how it’s the strongest diet suppressent that is still legal.

Colour me skeptical.

  1. ah, we should totally do this together because i was just having the same thoughts about eating today, hah! ๐Ÿ˜‰ since summer's over and i should really stop eating like i've been starving for years (i recently returned to the US, and since i missed american food so much while i was gone, i've been scarfing it down like crazy. mmm).

eh, for the most part, i hear pretty bad things about pills (namely that they get you all jumpy, but it's super uncomfortable), but i can't remember if phentermine was ever specifically mentioned as one. i think you'll be fine as long as you eat in moderation and do lots of cardio (yay running)!

  2. Hahah I agree.. why does have to food taste so good! Well, I am like you, very skeptical about supplements like that. I would suggest to go with natural foods/methods. It's a lot healthier and since it's natural you wouldn't have to worry about what other things the drug might be doing. If you want, I could refer you to some good websites. I have been on something of a exercise/diet routine all summer, and it's been working out pretty well for me ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. i have that problem too! i eat all the time, its scary and i feel like a cow.

i plan on seeing a doctor.

and personally i suggest against anything with side effects

  4. I have trouble motivating myself to lose weight too. I HATE IT. I think having a friend with you to challenge you or motivate you or do your exercising helps. I binge eat :/ IDK about that food supressant but recently I've been using this Diet Supplementary called Mega-T Green Tea Pills and they curb your appetite without completely draining you. I dropped like 4 kilos in a couple weeks. But recently I've forgotten to take it and I put on another kilo. It's a harmless pill, so I recommend that.

  5. I suffer from the same lack of motivation. When I actually put myself on a diet I can lose a significant amount of weight. The best results I got was when I was counting calories and using Alli. Mind you, the Alli pretty much restricted the fat content in my diets so that was a great help when deciding what to eat. I have this horrible habit of eating when I'm bored now though and as a result, have gained back the weight I lost several months ago.

  6. I need to lose weight, but you know what? I don't think I'd trust any of those diet pills myself. Some of those pills just don't sound very safe do they?

  7. I have heard nothing but bad things about diet suppressants. I think they should be banned outright. Taking them is not a natural and healthy way to lose weight. The best way I think is to eat properly, exercise, and keep a food diary. You would be surprised how much the latter can really help keep you in check. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Good luck.

  8. I agree, food is evil, but pills and drinks aren't the answer. I'm a firm believer in that a little bit of good-ol'-fashion working out and a good diet we can all lose weight. Good luck to you!
