Of Baby Steps and Trends

I’ve made it to my first weight loss goal. I’m going in 5kg (11lbs) blocks and have another 5 of them to go… I’m finding it easier to have smaller goals because at least they come and go relatively quickly. I think I would have given up by now if I was only seeing the bigger picture. Although the reality that it’s going to take around 6 months makes me a bit sad.
It is nice to find that my pants are so big they fall off… kind of frustrating too. I can get pants in a big enough size but not a belt. I’m trying to think of alternatives.

Speaking of weird fashion trends, I think I hate them. Recently I’ve been looking for a new wallet as my old tatty one is falling to pieces (I realised today that I’ve had it for 7 years… can you believe that?) and now as I search for something new all I find is things I don’t like. Right now all womens wallets and purses are long and shiny! I want compact and cool… I wonder if a mans wallet would be right for me? Hmm.

Is there something you haven’t been able to part with and now can’t find a replacement you like? I have the issue with shoes too. Damn fashion changing constantly!

  1. I find fashion as a whole to be very annoying. If I don't wear the latest, I'm considered a loser. If I do wear the latest, I'm considered a prep. I just wear what's comfortable. I don't even know what "in" usually.

I like guy wallets myself. The lady ones are too big and shiny for me. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. I want a watch. But not just any watch — it has to be from a cereal box (or some other cheap alternative). I don't want to spend much money on it because then I'll be pressured to take care of it and stuff, when all I need is a general idea of what time it is.

Anyways, congrats on making your first goal! Hopefully the rest will come easily.

    I hate wearing belts ๐Ÿ˜›

  3. That is good that you are taking it step by step on your weight loss. ๐Ÿ™‚

When I do not go somewhere nice, I carry what is called a magic wallet. It is simple and has slots for cards and IDs, but to hold the money, you open it like a book. If you have ever seen a Jacob's Ladder toy, then it is a smaller version of one and has been effective for keeping money. I have been using mine for 11 years now.

  4. I had an old wallet that probably lasted me…10 years? maybe a little longer. It was one of those 'kids' wallets with a Vancouver Canucks logo on it. I refused to get rid of it even with the outer piece with the logo on it fell off. It took me forever to replace it. When I did I found that though I loved the wallet (a Nightmare Before Christmas one) it was far too big to fit in the back pocket of my jeans. I now have a little card holder type thing for when I don't take a bag with me, which is all the time.

Congrats on reaching your first goal. I'm hoping to get into a walking routine and just see what happens. I'm no where near motivated enough to set any goals. I've lost about 5 pounds in the last month or so that's actually stayed off and I'm happy with that after staying the same weight for so many years.
