January 09: The things you didn’t read

Although I posted 7 times in January (more than any month since ‘restarting’) there were still some things left too say.

All made up.
Lazily got a make over and the first layout without any copyright infringements (celebrity images) since nearly the beginning. I really enjoy it, I feel like the tone of my posts have changed and I’m putting more effort into them rather than relying on pretty pictures.

Feed me!
Edit: With thanks to Katy my feed now works! YAY

I learned a few things about RSS feeds this month (well… this week) and put a swish little button over there ——> about it. I don’t overly like feeds but I know there are those that do and for some reason my feed is still a bit broken (a feed doesn’t get picked up if you just get readers to look at http://lazily.org not sure why, any suggestions?) but is more fixed than before. Although I say I don’t much like them they have been handy in this hot hot weather we’re having… with one click I see who has updated and then get the hell away from the computer lol

Bespectacled
I became four-eyed this month. My eyes have been disintigrating since 2007 but I didn’t do anything about it until now. It amazes me how bright and sharp the world really is.

Health Kick update
Since implementing my health kick I am gradually exercising more and eating less or substituting foods for other foods and eating lower fat. Something is working as I’ve lost just over 3KG (6.6Lbs) and am hoping to continue ๐Ÿ™‚

Feeling uplifted
I feel very positive at the moment. Yes, some days at work I’d love to stab someone in the eye with a fork but the people are quite forgiving – perhaps because they’re prone to frequent moodiness – and although everyone harps on about how damn stressful it is, it’s nothing compared to Teletech. I’m having a lot of fun with 2009 and hope it is my year. My time for opportunities!

Here’s hoping February is just as fun and eventful ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. – Yay for non-copyright infringement! About the layout, could you please change the text colour for inputs/textareas? It's extremely hard to read the black on dark grey. I have to guess what I'm typing xD

    – If you want me to read your blog, a feed is a must ๐Ÿ˜› I have over 80 subscriptions that I always read! I can't visit each blog individually and just *hope* that they've updated ๐Ÿ˜‰

    – Even after years of wearing glasses, I still get a bit of shock whenever I put them on.

    – Yay for being healthy! That's awesome, keep it up ๐Ÿ˜€

    – Yay for being positive!

  2. Haha, I know I had a similar moment when I made my first layout that didn't involve any copyright infringement, and how proud I was.

I… have to admit that while I know what feeds are, I don't really know… what I'm supposed to do about them. And as a result haven't really catered to them…

I got glasses in the 5th grade, when my eyes went all wonky. But after I had that problem fixed my prescription never really went up too much. I never minded glasses. After knowing what the world looks like WITHOUT them, I appreciate them immensely. Now… I'm getting a little tired of them.

Any plan to be healthy is awesome, so good luck keeping that up, and good luck with the optimism. Let me know if you've got any to spare ๐Ÿ˜‰ I'm sure 2009 will be your year!

  3. Congratulations on the above ๐Ÿ˜‰

I'll comment on the glasses thing, I love mine. I begged to go to the opticians when I was sixteen so that I could get some. Recently I got some glasses with a special prism lens so that it cures the double vision I gained after I had strabismus surgery aged nine. I was so amazed at the difference it made. ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Oh, and as for your feed being automatically identified by feed readers, you have to link it. Try adding the following code in your head tags:

  5. [link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="RSS 2.0" href="URL TO FEED" /]

replacing the [ and ]s. Sorry for the multiple comments. Didn't think that the code wouldn't appear. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Hope it helps anyhow.

  6. I'm not a big fan of feeds either, but I have to admit that it's been helping me keep up with multiple bogs lately… so I guess I can't really complain.

I like your layout by the way. It's really simple and elegant but not borng at all.

  7. I love the layout, it's simple and clean and THANK GOD no fan-art. Those always made me sick when someone did that =/

You remind me I need to get new glasses.
